Michelle Obama shops at J.Crew

Michelle Obama appeared on Jay Leno last night to chat about the final legs of her husband's presidential bid. She looked fab doing so and when asked about her wardrobe told Jay "...this is a J.Crew ensemble." More power to Mrs. Obama for looking fab without spending a fortune.

The pencil skirt is still available as is the cardigan though not in the same Golden Yellow Michelle is wearing.

She added a personal touch to her look by pinning a brooch at the top of the cardi to give it an A-line look. Thumbs up Mrs. Obama!

The look is available here

REMAIN IN COSTUME

It's that time to break out the over sized chunky sweaters and knee boots. Instead of pairing the two with skinny jeans or plain leggings try printed leggings to separate your look from the "others".

New Years Eve

When I saw Eve's outfit, last night on VH1'S HIP HOP HONORS, "New Years Eve" popped in my head. Thinking too far ahead but I can see this outfit being worn to a gathering that night. We all know how the celebs do, rock an outfit that cost thousands, but "the average" can easily pull off a similar look for $100.00 and some change.

Blazer, forever21 $27.80
Gloss Leggings, forever21 $14.80
Sequin Tunic, forever21 $34.80
Ankle Boots, gojane $25.99

Get it for Cheap or D.I.Y

Gold buttons and crest patches are all over the place this season. You can get the look for less than $30.00 at Forever21. Or you can update a plain cardigan or blazer with the pieces shown below. You should be able to find these items at your local fabric and crafts store. (Who knew the Steve Urkel cardigan would be a wanted item lol)

Jump! Jump!

Jumpsuits have showed up everywhere over the last few months. The summer versions were perfect for those super hot days to romp around in. Now we are seeing a more grown-up and professional take on the look. The wool blend version from French Connection is undoubtedly sexy but can definitely work for work.

It looks great layered also...

THESE 3 THINGS

A little over a week after Hurricane Ike slapped my city luckily I'm able to get back to what I consider the norm. Here are my current 3 favorite items of the moment....oh and by the way HAPPY FALL YALL!

SHOUT wipes have been one of the best things to happen to some of my favorite tops. While feeding my face I tend to have a hole in my chin at times and these things work wonders on food and grease stains.

The New Gap

The Gap has recently had an internal makeover in hopes to get more customers in the stores. Patrick Robinson...formerly of Perry Ellis...joined the company as Head Designer recently and has brought his idea of chic,American sportswear with him. Who knows if it will help the Gap much but I must say...the stores are looking much better than I can recall in a lonngggg time.

A couple fall looks from The Gap that I'm loving...

Ruffled Plaid Shirt..$48

Super Bell Jeans...$78
Cropped Bomber Jacket...$68

Low-rise Cords...$54.50

Coco Crew?

I've been searching for a quilted bag for some time now. With the legacy of Coco Chanel attached, quilted bags have a timeless, chic quality about them that I just love. And for that same reason the price tags attached are..shall we say a bit out of reach. Marc Jacobs regularly has quilted bags in his collections but at $1,200 a pop...I'll pass. Thankfully J.Crew has captured the spirit of Chanel in it's quilted tote "Quincy". The sleek Graphite color will take you well into fall and blend well with the plums and chocolates of the upcoming season.
